thanks for sharing that poem! i like it.
first we could narrow it down to some poets...Robert Frost is a good one of course, or maybe we could pick one we've never even heard of.
this site has a list of a lot of poets and has some poems by them
http://www.famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets.html
we could pick a poet we're interested in after reading the biography.
let's each pick three poets that we think look interesting, and then we'll narrow it down from there.
if that sounds good. :)
i'll be starting school soon, but i'll be here, no worries. :P

Evening Star by Edgar Allan Poe
'Twas noontide of summer,
And mid-time of night;
And stars, in their orbits,
Shone pale, thro' the light
Of the brighter, cold moon,
'Mid planets her slaves,
Herself in the Heavens,
Her beam on the waves.
I gazed awhile
On her cold smile;
Too cold- too cold for me-
There pass'd, as a shroud,
A fleecy cloud,
And I turned away to thee,
Proud Evening Star,
In thy glory afar,
And dearer thy beam shall be;
For joy to my heart
Is the proud part
Thou bearest in Heaven at night,
And more I admire
Thy distant fire,
Than that colder, lowly light.
Thanks Michelle for the link. I found 1 I like..
By Night when Others Soundly Slept by Anne Bradstreet
. By night when others soundly slept
And hath at once both ease and Rest,
My waking eyes were open kept
And so to lie I found it best.
.
I sought him whom my Soul did Love,
With tears I sought him earnestly.
He bow'd his ear down from Above.
In vain I did not seek or cry.
.
My hungry Soul he fill'd with Good;
He in his Bottle put my tears,
My smarting wounds washt in his blood,
And banisht thence my Doubts and fears.
.
What to my Saviour shall I give
Who freely hath done this for me?
I'll serve him here whilst I shall live
And Loue him to Eternity
you found some great ones it looks like. :)
