OK, so Michelle has read it, I'm in the middle of it (about the point where Boq falls in love with Galinda at the school) and Karen has a copy to start reading now... so if anyone wants to post on it...
=)
In a weird way it sorta reminds me of The Red Tent (Mich...have you been able to find a copy of it yet? You'd love it!)...I guess only because it's taking an old story of myth or fairy tale genre and exploding it into something fleshed out with fully developed characters and also it's from the perspective of someone who was pretty flat and static in the original story. Obviously, the Wicked Witch of the West was just supposed to be pure villain in The Wizard of Oz, but here she is portrayed as a sympathetic character. Also, the "good guys" are not portrayed so sympathetically here (at least so far).

OK guys, er, gals. Bear with me, this technology thing is throwing me, so we'll see if my entry makes it.
Anyway, I just read that poem "The Road Less Traveled"...and for some crazy reason, it made me think of Bella. I'm not finished with the series yet, just started on the last book. But when I read the first stanza of Frost's poem I was reminded of Alice's words to Bella at the end of the 3rd book when she expressed sympathy to Bella for being forced to choose between two good things. That's a theme in the book, this "impasse" that sort of starts with Edward and Bella's relationship in general and what they want for each other, it's echoed in the fridge magnets that cannot coexist side by side, and noted again with the love triangle in which Bella finds herself. It's pretty sad in the book (so far). However, Frost's poem seems to finish on a note of hope and triumph.
Just my goofy thoughts...

Poems
thanks for sharing that poem! i like it.
first we could narrow it down to some poets...Robert Frost is a good one of course, or maybe we could pick one we've never even heard of.
this site has a list of a lot of poets and has some poems by them
http://www.famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets.html
we could pick a poet we're interested in after reading the biography.
let's each pick three poets that we think look interesting, and then we'll narrow it down from there.
if that sounds good. :)
i'll be starting school soon, but i'll be here, no worries. :P

Twilight Art
For the release of Breaking Dawn, a friend and I made t-shirts. I made these graphics to go on the back of two of them.
The front of this shirt says, "I run with wolves". This is the back image:

The second shirt says "Twilight, like I need another obsession" on the front, and here is the image on the back:

Welcome!
Alright, this will be the blog we can all post in. :)
I added a little poll on the side, I thought it could be a fun weekly thing. We can all come up with different questions too.
Kristine mentioned that more people wanted to join, so I thought that first we could start discussing what book we want to do first. And I'm wondering if we should do like a book a month, or would we need more time to read, etc. Any thoughts on that sort of thing, please post your thoughts.
I can't wait to get this started!
